‘Invisible’ Flash web contents are ready to be searched now – Adobe comes up with optimized Flash player

Flash helps in creation of animations, exciting advertisements and several Rich Internet Applications (RIAs). Numerous interactive communication interfaces and popular web page elements helping in integrating video into web pages are also built using Flash technology. Equipped with cross-browser adaptability, Flash designs and animations help in attracting and engaging web searcher with rich web experience.

However, until the recent past, content residing inside Flash pages used to be invisible to search engines. Similarly, for web goers, RIAs and dynamic content on the web used to be far from being reached via normal ‘search’ method.

Adobe has made it possible now. It introduces newer and optimized Flash Player Technology that would help pages inside Flash-based sites to be indexed in search engines such as Yahoo and Google. The optimized Flash player will allow search engine crawlers to crawl and index content inside a Flash file.

Both Yahoo and Google are provided with optimized Adobe Flash Player technology to help in better indexing of dynamic web content and RIAs in .flv, or .swf format. Adobe has started it with Google and Yahoo to effectuate better indexing of Flash contents on the web, and progressively it will develop essentials to meet search standards of other search engines like Live.com and Ask.com.

Even though the step from Flash owners would result in increase in the availability of more content on the web and expectedly benefit all content publishers, developers and end users; web standard purists argued that creating sites on proprietary technology runs contrary to what the web is all about. Adobe replied with an argument that Flash Player is already installed in 98% of the world's internet-connected computers.

Adobe’s communication with the leading search engine service vendors would help in reaching hundreds of exciting contents developed on flash platform now.
